Kettlebell Kisses

March 24, 2009

So, last night I got back into the swing of things- literally. Nothing like swinging and pressing a 35lb kettlebell. But, my kettlebell does love me and always tries to give me kisses.

This kiss isn’t so bad, but they’ve looked a ton worse and I’m sure after Wednesday this one will look a bit more irritated. I was showing off my KB kiss at work today to Johnny. He’s a great guy so if there’s any single women out here who’d like to be set up with him ;). I love to tease him about arm wrestling. I swear I could beat him, I just don’t want to hurt him you know.

Also, I was in tears earlier because I went over and read Luke’s Blog. Luke is running the mile in six minutes. I took nearly double that! So, yeah, I’m crying here. I’m still blaming the hill like conditions. It’s about a 35 degree incline on the way up and part of the way down. It’s just that where I’m at there’s no good way to do the incline first unless I drive to the bottom and then start there. Oh well.

Well, I’m on spring break so Josh and I are going to go watch a movie and cuddle on the couch. Variety night will be missed this week because, well, I’m lazy.

See you all either tomorrow or after our movie!

Ouch!!! hope your doing better and that your KB doesn’t keep on giving you those kisses. It’s nice hearing that you are getting back into the sing of things 🙂 I knew you would. We all just need some time to regroup and to just have some time to think things out. I did see Luke’s post and was very impressed with his running time. That is sure one awesome feat and one awesome run as well. I wonder if he was running from the police or whether Megan was trying to chase him down to eat some more Paleo meals. 🙂
I myself haven’t heard a word from him and don’t know what’s up with that. Hope I didn’t say something to piss him off at me. Then again my posts haven’t been that inspiring or special.
Have a great day and hope you continue to feel better.

Nothing of the sort Rob, I’ve just been super busy I promise! Look, I replied to your blog today already 😉

I think he was probably running from Megan who would have been driving a car attempting to run him over for the excessive amounts of paleo meals she’s been forced to consume :). I’m thinking of an entire cheat “day” coming up because I’m having a really hard time sticking to not eating the things I’ve “banned”. My cravings are starting to get a bit overwhelming and I think maybe one day every three months to just eat whatever would help because then I can say to myself, I can eat all that at once in so many days/weeks. I really want fries with melted cheddar to dip them in, soda, donuts, a big cookie, apple pie with the crumb topping… See, I’m getting hungry now just thinking these things!

That new kettlebell sure does love you Michelle. Very impressive!
I honestly don’t know how I pulled that sort of speed out of my a$$, although the old house did have some much larger hills nearby which probably slowed me down a lot. The new place has hills, but they’re longer and a much gentler incline.
As for the cheat day, I think it’s important to remind yourself every now and then how crap you feel when you just gorge yourself on all those foods…

Lately I have had enough cheat meals to last me a lifetime and that’s probably like Luke said, why I have felt crappy lately. Well I am back on track now and that’s what counts 😉
I have to say I really haven’t been craving sweets, but I do crave carbs like past, crackers and bread. I have to stay away from them though because they are my downfall and I don’t think I could handle another one at this time.
I know you’ll continue to do well. It is tough but you have a stong drive to succeed . A very great quality that I admire in you.

I love pasta as well Rob. Itallian food in general, particularly the sicilian foods! Yum! Gnocci is my absolute favorite with a creamy garlic sauce… I’m near drooling right now actually thinking about it.

I’ll get back there, just seems this month has been one battle of my will after another. It’s been a tough one and I’ve had more stress with work and school as well which I’m sure makes a difference.
