Seven Weird Things About… Michelle

January 23, 2009

To follow suit, use the same title but change to your name :). I’m borrowing this from Squigg’s site- she’s on the right there under fitness related blogs :).

#1- I can’t sleep with closet doors open (like Squigg). I read the book Cujo when I was in second grade and I have been traumatized for life. Note for parents- don’t tell your kids to NOT read books on a particular shelf because they WILL read those books then.

#2- I plot every hour of every day including when I relax and when I get ready for bed and when I clean the house.

#3- I hate carpeting. It scares me. I think it’s the most disgusting household item ever.

#4- I sleep with ear plugs in. I can’t sleep without them anymore.

#5- I eat raw potatoes.

#6- I don’t like any of my food to touch other things on my plate. I don’t like gravy on potatoes because it runs into the other stuff and I hate eating peas, corn, or green beans with gravy on them.

#7- I like to eat sugar. Lots of it. I have stopped eating sugar packets but now I’ve eaten two one pound bags of marshmallows in the last week and a half.

So, what are your seven weird things???

We are alike with items 1 and 6… Item #1 mostly because I am a neat freak. A room looks so much messier when the closet doors are open.

I like to sleep with ear plugs. I wear them at work so I am very comfortable with them in. I do all my yard work with them in too.

You’re weird! Lol! Just teasing. Your #2 scares me. You are probably super organized.

I wash my hands all the time. Well, whenever I touch stuff like dog food, or the dogs, or throw something in the trash (the can has a foot pedal, but I don’t wash my foot, so it’s weird).

I approach everything like it is an engineering project, so I can’t just move the computer, no. I have to see how many other things I can lump into the project as well, such as upgrading it, reloading it, moving my settings to another so I can give it to my son, comparing prices on monitors so my son can use it, planning how to route the cables, how to lock down his new computer over wireless, etc. In the end, I just move it, and he still does not have his own computer. And I am reluctant to start new projects (I wonder why?).

And I don’t like sweets. I might eat something sweet, like candy or a small piece of cake, once every other month or three. But I love raw tomatoes and cucumbers, and usually eat at least one tomato a day.

Is driving slow weird? Because that’s what I do, and I do it well. Maybe five below, and I accelerate and decelerate slowly as well. It pisses others off, but I always manage 24 to 28 MPG city and over 32 MPG highway, well over the listed fuel economy of 19/26 (I calculate it for each tank full – weird). It feels good stiffing OPEC – what can I say?

See Tim, you’re as weird as me ;). Do you go so far as to go without gravy, too?

Run4- you’re the first other person I know who uses ear plugs for sleeping. It origionally started so that my hubby and I could continue to sleep in the same room. Now, even when he goes on a business trip (or I go on a business trip) I still wear them because all those little noises drive me insane!.

Judie- I am fairly organized. I could still use some work on things. But hopefully by the end of this year my house will be fully organized. It keeps me sane- otherwise I’d never get anything done.

Hi Bruce! Nice to see you again. Does this mean you’re back? I calculate every tank of gas as well, as does my dad. I’m getting only about 24 mpg but it’s four miles to work, 4.6 to my second location, and 5.8 to the third. And my second job is 2.8 miles away. So, when I stop every five miles and park for a few hours I don’t think I can do much about the gas mileage except keep making sure the tires are full. I don’t drive slow though on the highway usually. I typically go five over- which most people here go even faster than that.

Oh… I don’t even like the taste of gravy… so yes, I go without gravy… I will just add butter to my potatoes…
